TI-84 Plus CE finance programs
6 checked finance programs for the TI-84 Plus CE. Each one runs in E-Code's virtual calculator in your browser, and you can put it on your own calculator.
The programs
- Compound interest calculator: Prompts for principal, rate, and years, then shows the compounded balance.
- Loan amortization with extra payments: Mortgage or car loan: the payment, a year-by-year balance table, total interest and total paid — and with an extra amount each payment, how much sooner it is paid off and how much interest that saves.
- Time value of money solver (N, I%, PV, PMT, FV): Solve for any one of periods, annual rate, present value, payment or future value from the other four, with the calculator's own sign convention (money you pay out is negative), end-of-period payments, any number of periods a year.
- NPV, IRR, MIRR and payback: Type the cash flows from year 0 (the cost, negative) on: net present value at your discount rate, internal rate of return, modified IRR, profitability index and payback period, with a warning when the flows change sign more than once.
- Compare two loans (APR with fees): Two monthly-payment offers for the same amount, each with its own rate, term and up-front fees: payments, total cost, the true APR once fees are counted, and which one is cheaper overall and by how much.
- Depreciation schedule: SL, 200% DB, SYD: Year-by-year depreciation and book value by straight line, 200% declining balance (switching to straight line when that is larger, never below salvage) or sum-of-the-years'-digits, with the totals.
