E-Code’s rules

These rules apply to everything in E-Code: the program writer (the chat), uploads, the E-Calc, the library and your account. They’re part of the terms of use. E-Code’s programs are written by AI (Anthropic’s Claude), so check every one on the E-Calc before you rely on it.

The rules

Be 18 or older. You must be at least 18 to create an account, use the program writer or buy a plan or pack. Don’t give a false age.
Use the chat for calculator programs. Ask for programs and help with them, not for essays or anything unrelated.
No harmful programs. Don’t ask for, paste, upload or open a program that:
- runs machine code or assembly (for example Asm(, AsmPrgm or Exec);
- wipes or deletes data that isn’t the program’s own (for example ClrAllLists, DelType, or deleting a folder it didn’t create);
- copies data to or from another calculator over a link cable (Send(, Get(, GetCalc(, SendCalc);
- pretends to reset the calculator, clear its memory, or be in Press-to-Test or exam mode;
- is meant to damage, crash or take over a calculator, a computer or anyone’s data.
No cheating tools. Follow your class and exam rules. Don’t use E-Code to make a program that gets around Press-to-Test, hides from a teacher or proctor, or carries answers into a test where that isn’t allowed.
Upload only a photo or PDF of a problem. Only upload files you have the right to use. Files that hide code (a program, archive, script or web page attached to them) and PDFs that can run things on their own (scripts, actions, attached files or forms) are blocked.
Don’t attack or overload E-Code. No probing, hacking, bots or scripts, no getting around limits or sign-in, and no copying the library in bulk. Don’t try to get into anyone else’s account.
One person per account. Don’t share your account or make extra accounts to get more free programs.
Credit E-Code. Programs E-Code writes are E-Code’s property. You may use them and share them, but keep the credit to E-Code (it’s in every downloaded file) and never claim that you wrote one or present it as your own work.

What happens if a rule is broken

It doesn’t go through. A request, program or file that breaks rules 3, 4 or 5 is stopped: it isn’t sent to the writer, doesn’t run, download or reach a calculator, and you see a warning that says which rule.
Strikes. A request that clearly asks for a harmful program, a cheating tool or an attack is a strike on your account, and the warning shows how many you have. 3 strikes within 30 days suspends the account automatically.
Suspension and termination. A suspended account can’t use the program writer, uploads, the library or checkout. We may also suspend or terminate an account at any time for breaking these rules or the terms, straight away when the break is serious (for example malware, an attack on E-Code, or a false age). An account closed for breaking the rules isn’t refunded for the rest of its month.
Your data stays yours. Even when suspended you can download or delete your data (Account → Your data) and manage or cancel billing.

What we keep

When a request is refused under these rules we keep a strike record: your account ID, which rule and when, for 30 days. We don’t keep the text you typed. A suspension is kept until it’s lifted. See the privacy notice.
