The guides
- Work out a monthly loan payment: Press APPS, ENTER for Finance and ENTER for the TVM Solver.
- Work out how long to reach a savings goal: Open the TVM Solver (APPS, ENTER, ENTER) and fill in I%, PV = 0, PMT as a negative deposit, FV as the goal and P/Y = 12.
- Work out the total interest on a loan: With the loan in the TVM Solver, press APPS, ENTER for Finance and ALPHA MATH for ΣInt(, type 1,60) and press ENTER for the interest over payments 1 to 60.
- Compare interest rates: Press APPS, ENTER for Finance and ALPHA PRGM for ►Eff(, then type the yearly rate, a comma and how many times a year interest is added, close the bracket and press ENTER.
- Find the balance left on a loan: With the loan in the TVM Solver, press APPS, ENTER for Finance and 9 for bal(, type the number of payments made, close the bracket and press ENTER.
- Work out net present value and internal rate of return: Press APPS, ENTER for Finance and 7 for npv(, then type the rate, the money out now as a negative and the later amounts as a list: npv(10,-1000,{300,400,500}) is −21.04.
