- Type scientific notation: Type the number, press 2nd and the comma key for EE (× 10^), then type the power: 6.02 EE 23 is 6.02 × 10²³.
- Solve a physics formula for any letter (TI-84 Plus CE): Press MATH, ▲ and ENTER for the Numeric Solver, type the formula as E1 = E2 (D = V×T+1/2×A×T²) and press GRAPH (OK).
- Solve a physics formula for any letter (TI-84 Plus): Press MATH, ▲ and ENTER for the Solver, type the formula with 0 on one side (0 = V×T+1/2×A×T²−D) and press ENTER.
- Store a constant in a letter: Type the value, press STO→, then ALPHA and the letter's key, and ENTER: 9.81 STO→ ALPHA TAN stores gravity in G.
- Show answers in scientific notation: Press MODE (the cursor starts on NORMAL), ▶ once onto SCI and ENTER, then 2nd QUIT.
- Fit a curve to data: With X in L1 and Y in L2, press STAT, ▶ to CALC and 5 for QuadReg, then ▼ to Calculate and ENTER.
- Fit a curve to data (TI-83 Plus): With X in L1 and Y in L2, press STAT, ▶ to CALC, 5 for QuadReg and ENTER.
