How to make a table of values on a TI-84 Plus CE, TI-84 Plus or TI-83 Plus

Press 2nd TBLSET (above WINDOW), type the first X in TblStart and the step in ΔTbl, then press 2nd TABLE (above GRAPH). X and Y1 appear side by side; ▼ scrolls on.

Before you start

Type the function into the Y= editor first: this guide uses Y1 = 2X + 1 (Y=, 2, X,T,θ,n, +, 1, then 2nd QUIT).

Y= 2 X,T,θ,n + 1 2nd MODE

Step by step

  1. Open TBLSET. 2nd WINDOW Press 2nd, then WINDOW. TBLSET (above WINDOW) sets where the table starts and its step.
  2. Start at 10. 1 0 Type 1 0 for TblStart, the first X in the table.
  3. Move to ΔTbl. ENTER Press ENTER to move down to ΔTbl, the step from one X to the next.
  4. Step by 5. 5 Type 5.
  5. Confirm it. ENTER Press ENTER.
  6. Open the table. 2nd GRAPH Press 2nd, then GRAPH. TABLE (above GRAPH) shows Y1 = 2X + 1 for X = 10, 15, 20…
  7. Read across. X = 10 gives 21, X = 15 gives 31. Press ▼ to scroll on; the table never ends.
